I went to my favorite place today! The Library!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the library. I look forward to my biweekly visit so I can spend countless hours looking through shelves of books, and sitting down to look over ones that catch  my eye.

And today was THAT day. So, since I am back to blogging, I felt sharing my library haul would be a nice first actual blog post.

Lake Silence by Anne Bishop

"Human laws do not apply in the territory controlled by the Others–vampires, shapeshifters, and paranormal beings even more deadly. And this is a fact that humans should never, ever forget . . . "

Some people call this book 6 in the The Others series, others call it a spin off of The Others. Either way, I'm excited to read this book. To see this world through the eyes of the humans. If you are interested in this series, you should start with book one, Written in Red. You won't regret it.

The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

"A foundling, an old book of dark fairy tales, a secret garden, an aristocratic family, a love denied, and a mystery. The Forgotten Garden is a captivating, atmospheric and compulsively readable story of the past, secrets, family and memory..."

I do not know much about this book or it's author, but I have heard such wonderful things about it. So, when I saw it on the shelf, I grabbed it up!

Gilded Cage by Vic James

"NOT ALL ARE FREE.
NOT ALL ARE EQUAL.
NOT ALL WILL BE SAVED."

"A girl thirsts for love and knowledge.

Abi is a servant to England’s most powerful family, but her spirit is free. So when she falls for one of their noble-born sons, Abi faces a terrible choice. Uncovering the family’s secrets might win her liberty—but will her heart pay the price?

A boy dreams of revolution.

Abi’s brother, Luke, is enslaved in a brutal factory town. Far from his family and cruelly oppressed, he makes friends whose ideals could cost him everything. Now Luke has discovered there may be a power even greater than magic: revolution.

And an aristocrat will remake the world with his dark gifts.

He is a shadow in the glittering world of the Equals, with mysterious powers no one else understands. But will he liberate—or destroy?"

The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley

"It is the summer of 1950–and at the once-grand mansion of Buckshaw, young Flavia de Luce, an aspiring chemist with a passion for poison, is intrigued by a series of inexplicable events: A dead bird is found on the doorstep, a postage stamp bizarrely pinned to its beak. Then, hours later, Flavia finds a man lying in the cucumber patch and watches him as he takes his dying breath."

Deathless by Catherynne M. Valente

"Deathless is no dry, historical tome: it lights up like fire as the young Marya Morevna transforms from a clever child of the revolution, to Koschei’s beautiful bride, to his eventual undoing. Along the way there are Stalinist house elves, magical quests, secrecy and bureaucracy, and games of lust and power. All told, Deathless is a collision of magical history and actual history, of revolution and mythology, of love and death, which will bring Russian myth back to life in a stunning new incarnation."

Unwept by Tracy and Laura Hickman

"Gamin, Maine, is a remote seaside town where everyone seems to know Ellis Harkington better than she knows herself—but she doesn’t remember any of them..."

"Ellis finds herself adrift in a town of ominous mysteries, cryptic hints, and disturbingly familiar strangers. The Nightbirds, a clique of fashionable young men and women, claim her as one of their own, but who among them can she truly trust? And what of the phantom suitor who visits her in her dreams? Is he a memory, a figment of her imagination, or a living nightmare beyond rational explanation?"

I have read The Bronze Canticles by Tracy and Laura Hickman, and loved that series. So, I am really excited to explore a whole new world, with all new characters written by these two brilliant authors.

I'm back, bigger and better.

It has been a hot minute since I have posted a blog! I have actually missed it more than I thought I ever would.

I have undergone a lot of changes, and feel ready to get back into this wonderful world of blogging. I still read a lot, and still want to share my books with you, but I also want to get back to my blogging roots and chat about fashion and beauty. Including self love, (I know, it is flooding the internet), but this is more about my personal journey to self love. How it is an ever evolving, life long commitment for me.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for you to join me on this ride, so that we can share all of our ups and downs and everything in between with each other. To support and love one another.

I am working on updating this site, giving it a nice new shiny look. So be sure to follow me here and on my IG for all the lastest!
