Hello Lovelies! Spring has its grip on me, and I was inspired to do a green eye tutorial, by all the baby grass and little green leafy buds sprouting out on the trees.
I had just a blast using my Victorian Disco shadows, and continue to be impressed with how beautiful and easy to use her products are. In this look, I used her shadows wet and the shadows took on a whole new shine and beauty.
Here are the products I used:
NARS in Orgasm, Too Faced Natural Eye in Heaven and Silk Teddy, Clinique's Pink-a-boo lipstick, Victorian Disco in It's a Trap/Antrophine/Yoda's Yoga Mat, Clinique Lash Doubling mascara and Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
A closer look at Victorian Disco shadows in It's a Trap, Antrophine and Yoda's Yoga Mat
Here is my video tutorial for this look:
If you have used these shadows, tell me what you think of them.

Here is the official Glossybox Contest video for information on how to enter!
UPDATE: (CLOSED) Taken from Glossybox US Facebook page:
Glossies, we've just reached 2,500 fans! To celebrate, we're giving away another 10 boxes - 1 box for every 100 new GlossyBox fans. To enter, comment below, and "Like" and "Share" THIS post. Help us spread the word about Glossybox and win! :)
For me and I know many others, this has been a long and much anticipated wait.
I have watched so many Glossybox unboxing videos with such jealousy, and soon I will be jealous no more!
I am sure everyone is familiar with the subscription based beauty box, but in case you are one who does not, this is how it works:
You pay a monthly fee,(this differs from company to company, and cost can vary as well. Most common is $10 a month, but can go higher). Glossybox hasn't announced what the U.S fee will be yet. But each month, you receive a box filled with sample, deluxe and even full size products.
This is a great way to try out products you may not have tried before, or to be turned on to products you may not have heard of. Then, if you like a particular product from your box, then you can go onto Glossybox.com and order the full size version.
Glossybox boxes contain 5 products ranging from sample to a possible full size.
Now, if Glossybox US works the same as it does with the UK, then you can earn what they call GLOSSYdots which can be redeemed. You earn GLOSSYdots by reviewing the products that were sent to you, 20 GLOSSYDots per review with 100 GLOSSYDots per box possible. Once you get 1000 GLOSSYdots you will get a FREE Glossybox!
Glossybox has a wide range of products from so many great cosmetic companies. The exact list of partners for the U.S has not yet been announced, but you can go onto the site and see a list of their Global Partners, such as Clinique, YSL, NARS, Bobbi Brown and so many more.
The only way to get a chance at receiving one of the first of these wonderful pink boxes is to go to http://www.glossybox.com and enter to win!
A few days ago a little box showed up at my door. With much glee, I promptly tore open the box to reveal my order from Too Faced!
I ordered the Eye Want it All 2 and a primer kit below:
With the Eye Want it All 2 came a full size Lashgasm mascara, Shadow Insurance, waterproof eyeliner and three palettes. as a free gift for my purchase I chose Glamor Gloss in Barely Legal. With the primer kit, (seperate from main kit), I got a travel size Shadow Insurance, Primed and Poreless face primer and Lip Insurance.
Below I will show the three eye palettes:
This is the Natural Eye palette. The colors in this palette are warm in tone. The top row are matte, while the other 6 shadows are either a stain, shimmer or glitter.
Below are the swatches to the Natural Eye:
The second palette is the Naked Eye palette. The color are cooler toned than the natural. There are also three matte colors in this palette, with the rest being more satin finish.
And here is the swatch of the Naked palette:
The last palette from the kit is the Smokey Eye. With a mix of cool and warm tones, these colors are beautiful and rich. With only two colors fitting the matte bill.
Smokey Eye swatched:
All the colors from the three palettes are beautiful, with nice color pay off. Easy to work with and very blendable. Except for the more glittery shadows, all the colors are soft to the touch. Even the glittery ones are nice feeling. None were at all chalky.
The eyeliner is amazing! So easy to glide on, with a creamy like texture. Highly pigmented and the waterproof formula really helps its lasting power.
The mascara is so nice, I am in love with both of them!
And of course the Shadow Insurance is my favorite eye primer. It beats out my mac prep and primed.
Overall, I am so excited and pleased with this purchase. And you get alot of bang for your buck. For the Eye Want it All 2 kit, I paid $85.00 with a coupon code. It retails on the TooFaced.com for $99.00.
Which may sound a little pricey, but if you were to purchase each item seperately, you would pay alot more. So this is a great deal, with huge savings.
If you have any of these palettes, please tell me what you think of them.
Hello my Lovelies! I am still watching the Academy Awards, but just cannot wait to start this blog. So many beautiful gowns and some that just fell short. I am glad that no one completely bombed though. I honestly don't take pleasure in seeing someone make that mistake.
I found that I liked more dresses than I disliked! So, I will be putting the most focus on the positive, with just a sprinkle of my misses of the night.
Now, onto my personal favorite gowns of the night!
Ah, I love Michelle Williams. So beautiful in this Louis Vuitton red tulle gown.
Gwyneth Paltrow looks so classic and beautiful in Tom Ford. She pulled the cape off effortlessly thanks to a soft color and minimal accessories.
Penelope Cruz looks so classicly stunning in a lavender Armani gown.
Milla Jovovich brought sparkle in Elie Saab gown.
Cameron Diaz brings a soft femininity with Gucci.
Octavia Spencer looks lovely in Tadaschi Soshi.
Angelina Jolie is looking and noticeably feeling very sexy in Atletier Versace.
I only had three that I felt didn't make the cut.
Gleen Close, lose the jacket. The Zac Posen dress itself, is beautifully constructed, why hide it?
Not sure why Shailene Woodley chose such a matronly look. She is young and vibrant and this Valentino is just to old a look for her.
Sandra Bullock in what appears to be an oversized Marchesa gown. The gown is pretty, but it should be more fitted. The way it is here, just ruins everything about the overall look.
So, overall I like pretty much everyones look tonight.
What were your hits and misses of the night? Any particular favorites or anyone who just did not cut it for you?
Victorian Disco Cosmetics is a great indie company, who creates some of the prettiest loose powder shadows. They are all vegan and cruelty free. She has a shop on etsy.com which you can find HERE.
I recently ordered 15 mini jars, in which I could pick and choose any shadow from her various collections. I recieved them a couple days ago. The order was filled and shipped out in about a week and half, which pleased me. I was really excited to get these guys in. And was really impressed with just how much product you get in these mini jars.
Here are all the shadows I ordered:
I swatched all the colors, and starting here we have Desert Eagle(Care Package Glitters) and Salazar (House Points Collection)
And lastly these are from the Galaxy Down the Street Collection:
Yoda's Yoga Mat, It's a Trap, Millenium Falcon, The Fett, Lightsaber, Ewok Pajama Party, Do the Jabba, Jabba
I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance with these swatches and the colors just popped. They are just as pretty without primer, but they come across softer. Most loose powdered shadows last longer and have better color payoff with primer and I suggest using these and any other powder shadow with a primer.
I am extremely happy with these shadows, the colors are so pretty and all of VDC's colors have a unique-ness about them that I am drawn to. Not to mention the names of the shadows are so fun and clever.
All the collections shown above have more colors in the collections, these are just the ones I choose from each collection.
The prices of the shadows are a great deal too! You can get full size jars (2g) for $4.99. I bought the 15 mini jars for 15% off which brought my order to $25.50 including shipping. And as you can see, you get alot of product and a quality product at that!
Revlon's polish in Buttercup is a creamy soft yellow. It goes on smooth and easy and opacity is reached easily with two coats. It has a nice shine on its own, and is advertised to last 11 days when used with Colorstay base and top coat. I can't confirm this personally.
I have China Glaze Fast Forward top coat on in the above picture. I love this color, and plan on using essie's lilacism on my accent nail or maybe a little design.
Essie's Lilacism is right on trend for this spring. This beautiful lacquer is from The Art of Spring Collection and is a creamy pastel purple, that is so soft and feminine.
I reached a perfect opacity with just two coats. It has a satin-like finish. It went on smoothly and easily, and I am in love! This will be a staple for me this spring.
I purchased this from Walgreens for around $6.85
What do you think of this color? And do you like essie polish?
Jet Set to Paris by L'oreal is a goregous medium creamy blue (with a subtle purple-y undertone/base).
I love the creamy polishes over the shimmer/glitter ones. And this does not disappoint. This line of polish seems to offer more cream polish than the shimmer that seems to dominate drug store shelves.
It is advertised as a one coat and go, but I found that two coats really worked much better. It isn't to thick or to thin, and is easy to apply. It does dry rather quickly, so that is very nice indeed.
They advertise that when used with their base and top coat the polish can last 10 days. I did not purchase either so cannot comment either way on that.
I love this color and is a perfect shade of blue for my skin tone, as it is a warm shade of blue.
Has anyone used this polish before? How do you like it? And has anyone tested the 10 day statement?
